Terms of Service
Last updated August 19, 2026
Flowers is a membership community for family caregivers and the elders they love, hosted by Sharawn Connors of Mahogany Homes in Oakland, California. Using the app or coming to a gathering means you accept these terms. They’re short, because the arrangement is simple.
Membership
- Membership costs $20 a year and renews automatically each year through Stripe until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the receipt or renewal emails Stripe sends you, or by asking us — cancelling stops future charges and your membership runs to the end of the year you’ve paid for.
- Joining in person is equally welcome — cash or a word with Sharawn at a gathering puts you on the roll the same as paying online.
- Membership is for you. Signing in requires the email on the roll, and lets you see the gatherings, save seats, and share with the community.
Gatherings, seats, and tickets
- Some gatherings are free — you RSVP and come. A free RSVP may come with a check-in code for the door; it is a greeting, not a ticket, and nothing was bought.
- Some gatherings are ticketed (like the dinner). A ticket is a paid seat at that gathering, bought through Stripe, and exists only after Stripe confirms the payment. The QR on your phone is the ticket; the door can also find you by name if your phone dies.
- Life happens, especially in caregiving. If you can’t make a gathering you paid for, talk to us — refunds and transfers are handled personally, with grace, not by a policy grid.
- A gathering may occasionally change time, place, or date; we’ll say so in the app. If we cancel a ticketed gathering, you get your money back.
The community
- The Circle, gathering memories, and the Face Card wall are shared spaces for a community built on honoring elders. Post with the warmth you’d bring to the table: no cruelty, harassment, or spam, and only photos of people you have the right to share.
- What you post is yours. By sharing it in Flowers you give us permission to show it in the app to the community — that’s all. Delete it and it comes down for everyone.
- Sharawn tends this space and may remove anything, or anyone, that brings unkindness into it. Posts appear immediately and are moderated after the fact — that is a deliberate act of trust; please honor it.
Honesty at the door
Tickets and check-in codes are signed and each admits once. Don’t forge, copy, or share them with someone else expecting a seat — the door will know, and more importantly, it isn’t how we treat each other.
The plain disclaimers
- The app is provided as-is, by a very small team, and may occasionally be imperfect. We don’t promise uninterrupted service, and we’re not liable for indirect damages; for anything else our liability is capped at what you’ve paid us in the past year.
- Flowers is community and connection, not professional advice — nothing here is medical, legal, or financial guidance.
- These terms are governed by the laws of California.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and we’ll say so plainly in the app and at gatherings. Continuing to use Flowers after that means the new terms.
